Want to go horseback trail riding? Giddy-up and head to these Atlanta area locations that don't require you to BYOH (bring your own horse) to have a good time.
Georgia Frontiers (Canton) – Get into the saddle and out on a Western style trail ride on 150 acres of land featuring wooded trails. Package options include a one hour, 90 minute, and two hour riding options. Add a private ride with a trail guide for a more personal experience.
Lanier Islands (Buford) – The Lanier Islands Equestrian Center offers a variety of options for riding including pony rides, summer camps, riding lessons and trail rides. Trail rides last 45, 75 or 90 minutes for adults with a 30 minute option for children ages two and older.
Adventure Trail Rides (Cherry Log) – Ford a river, ride out to a romantic setting where you'll propose, make time to stop and picnic or just hit the trail for an hour and take in the mountains around Blue Ridge. Packages start at just $32.50 per person for a one hour ride.
Barnsley Resort (Adairsville) – A romantic wilderness ride could be just the thing. Prefer a lesson in the corral? Barnsley Resort has an option for everyone's horseback riding desires including horse painting for kids.
Serenbe TrailRiding (Chattahoochee Hills) – Take to the rolling countryside of the Serenbe community by horseback when you book an experience with Serenbe TrailRiding. Located just down the road from the Inn at Serenbe, Serenbe TrailRiding offers bookings for all levels of rider.
Southern Cross Guest Ranch (Madison) – Daily horseback riding is available for guests of this family-run horse farm. The ranch accommodations highlight horseback riding and guests are invited to explore the pastures and wooded forest surrounding the property on a horse of their own or one that they borrow from the ranch. There are limited riding opportunities for non-guests too.
Gold City Corral & Carriage Company (Dahlonega) – Featuring three different packages, Gold City Corral & Carriage Company gives guests the opportunity to explore North Georgia on horseback for one or two hours or half a day.

Brasstown Valley Resort & Spa (Young Harris) – Schedule a getaway at this North Georgia resort and get access to all their spa services and a full horseback trail riding experience through fields, forests and streams. One and two hour rides are available for older riders while children six and under can ride in the riding ring.
Already own a horse and looking to ride somewhere new? Seven Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites offer horseback trail riding including A.H. Stephens State Park (Crawfordville), Cloudland Canyon State Park (Rising Fawn), F.D. Roosevelt State Park (Pine Mountain), Fort Mountain State Park (Chatsworth), General Coffee State Park (Nicholls), Hard Labor Creek State Park (Rutledge) and Watson Mill Bridge State Park (Comer). Except for FDR, none of the parks offer horses to ride, they do offer trails, and some have stables and riding rings for those who want to bring your own horse. Horse-friendly campsites are also available.
