From mountaintop laser shows to beach parties to dog festivals, there's all sorts of stuff you can do to pass the time inside and around Gwinnett County. Here are a few upcoming opportunities

Duluth Food Truck Fridays. Exotic flavors in a "mobile vending setting" scheduled for 6 p.m. May 6 and every Friday until June 24 on the Duluth Town Green. Costs vary depending on food. The live music is free.
Food Truck Fridays in Suwanee. Beginning at 5:30 p.m. May 6, five Fridays of "fun, food and free music." Free admission to concert, which begins at 7 p.m. Event held at Suwanee Town Center.
Woofstock. Enjoy a "pet party in the park," showcasing pets and highlighting many local animal charities. All day May 7 at Suwanee Town Center.
Be Duluth. Be Art. May 7-May 14, a variety of art experiences will be available throughout different locations in the city. Check the website for details on where to find exhibits.
Comic Book Day. Enjoy free comic books distributed by Lawrenceville businesses around the square. Comic book and film characters will be roaming the area as well. It runs from 9-11 a.m. May 7 in Lawrenceville's downtown district.
Movies on the Lawn. Relax with friends and a movie in downtown Lawrenceville. Starts at 6:30 p.m. May 13 and every Friday through Aug. 12. Free.
Music
Children's Playhouse: Sing! Aurora Theatre assembles young performers from around the region, bring them to Gwinnett. Features puppeteers, magicians, storytellers and jugglers too. Scheduled for 10 and 11:30 a.m. May 7. Cost is $7.
Eddie Owen Presents: The Rat Pack Now at the Red Clay Music Foundry. Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis impersonators scheduled for 7 p.m. May 7 performance.
Road Races
Relay for Life of Gwinnett. The American Cancer Society fundraiser kicks off at 6 p.m. May 13 at the Gwinnett County Fairgrounds.
Spring into Summer Wellness Festival. Gwinnett County Parks and Recreation and Live Healthy Gwinnett sponsor this festival that includes a 3K GLOW Fun Walk/Run at 8 p.m. May 21. Free.
Sports
Ropeman's Elite Eastern Seaboard Pro/Am. A bodybuilding show that's been running for more than 20 years, featuring up and coming bodybuilders from around the region. 10 a.m. May 14 at Infinite Energy Center. Tickets: $35-50.
Drift Atlanta. Fast cars and dramatic competition scheduled all day May 6-7 at Road Atlanta. Tickets: $30-$150. Children 12 and under get in free.
JUNE
Family friendly
First Saturday Aviation Program and Pancake Breakfast. All you care to eat pancake, eggs, sausage and biscuits at Gwinnett County's Briscoe Field. Starts at 8 a.m. June 4.
Fun on the Spring Green. Heart of Gwinnett and Greater Eastside Chamber hosts an event featuring vendors, family fun and food, starting at 10 a.m. June 4 at Grayson Community Park.
Flicks on the Bricks. Food trucks and a free movie starting at 6 p.m. June 10 and running through Oct. 21 on Duluth Town Green.
Cat Fanciers' Association Southern Regional Awards. It's a cat show with more than 200 varieties of pedigree felines and household pets. Starts at 9 a.m. June 11-12 at Infinite Energy Center.
Music
Jimmy Buffett & the Coral Reefer Band. "I Don't Know Tour 2016" kicks off at 8 p.m. June 2 at Infinite Energy Center. Tickets: $46-$146.
Rock the Park. The Journey Tribute Band plays the hits at Lilburn City Park starting at 6 p.m. June 3. It's free.
Mall of Georgia Music Jam Series. The Woody's Unplugged play at this free outdoor concert from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 3 at Mall of Georgia.
Summer Stage Concert Series. From 8 to 10 p.m. Yacht Rock Revue plays the free June 11 show on the Duluth Town Green.

Legends Football League: Atlanta Steam vs. Omaha Heart. "Gridiron Goddesses of the Atlanta Steam storm the field" for this 7-on-7 full-contact tackle football. Starts at 8 p.m. June 3. Tickets: $23-$58.
The National Auto Sport Association June Jam will be back at Road Atlanta this year, scheduled all day June 4-5. Tickets are $20.
JULY
Family Friendly
Stone Mountain Park's Fantastic Fourth Celebration. Features the Lasershow Spectacular in Mountainvision and a patriotic fireworks display. Attraction hours from July 1-4 are from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Lasershow and fireworks start at 9:30 p.m. Check website for pricing.
Lawrenceville Live! Event features street performers, local musicians and local business activities, starting at 6 p.m. July 1 and running through Sept. 2 in downtown Lawrenceville. And, it's free.
Lawrenceville Arts Festival. Downtown Lawrenceville will be filled with artists and jazz musicians throughout the day July 16. It's free.
Movies Under the Stars — Double Feature. Check Suwanee's website to find out what will be showing at 7 p.m. July 23 at Suwanee Town Center. Free
Toddler Fridays at Hudgens Center for the Arts. Experience hands-on activities and storytime for children ages 1 to 4. $7 per child. 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 29 and every Friday through December 30.
Music
Norcross Summer Concert Series. Butch & the Buckheads play July 8 and Satin Finish is scheduled for July 22 as part of the city's musical series at Thrasher Park. Bring can food donations for free entry.
Kool and the Gang at The Bowl @ Sugar Hill. They band is scheduled for July 16. For ticket pricing, check the website as the date draws nearer.
GRITS: The Musical! Based on the book "Grits Friends are Forevah" by Deborah Ford, the performance is scheduled for 8 p.m. July 14-31 at Art Station
