5 ways to stay fit for free in Atlanta: CorePower and more

The best free fitness classes this week mostly revolve around yoga, taking the rejuvenating practice everywhere from heated classrooms to parks and farmers markets. But with kickboxing, Pilates and cycling on the menu, too, even cardio buffs will get their fix.

Check out five ways to stay fit for free this week in Atlanta.

CorePower anniversary celebration
Class times range from 9 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., June 6. Multiple locations.
It's been one year and three location openings since CorePower arrived in Atlanta with its array of beginners, hot, fusion and sculpt yoga classes — and its celebrating with a full day of freebies.

Pop into the Druid Hills location at 9 a.m. for a C2 (heated intermediate) class or at 10:30 a.m. for Yoga Sculpt (yoga with weights and a cardio segment). Opt for a hot lunch with a noon C2 class or 1:30 p.m. Yoga Sculpt class at Ponce City Market, or head over to the main event at the Buckhead studio for refreshments and the last of the classes: C2 at 6 p.m. and Yoga Sculpt at 7:30. The latest offering in Avalon's weekly free AvalOM fitness offering, on Wednesdays this summer, LIFT Yoga Studio will present a HIITS yoga class on the plaza at the center with instructor Anissa Dearborn.

The class blends the cardio elements of high-intensity interval training with the strengthening flow of a vinyasa sequence, elevating the heart rate and setting the stage for a more toned physique.
