Go Skateboarding Day
Saturday marks the 10th anniversary of Go Skateboarding Day, now an international celebration, so Kennesaw Skatepark is making sure the day gets the attention it deserves. Skaters of all ages and abilities are invited to come out and watch or take part in skateboarding sessions, trick contests and a general celebration of the sport. Live music, giveaways, games and food vendors will be part of the free event, along with contests and prizes.

The Great Amazing Race
Based on TV’s “The Amazing Race,” Sunday’s event is a family-friendly obstacle course. Two-person teams consisting of an adult and child (from kindergarten through high school) go through a 1-mile course featuring several challenges. The teams compete against one another in groups based on the age of the child. It takes about an hour to complete the course. This event is planned for rain or shine, but even without any weather racers should be prepared to get a bit dirty and wet. Friends and family are welcome to cheer on each team, and the top 25 finishers qualify for the national championships later this year.

Fireside Gathering: Hearthstone Heroes of Warcraft
Priests, paladins, warlocks and warriors are all welcome Saturday afternoon for a Fireside Gathering to play Hearthstone, Warcraft’s digital collectible card game, at Battle & Brew Food & Games in Marietta. Whether you’re an experienced player or someone who’s just beginning to learn, you’re welcome to join in the fun. Each of the bar’s PCs will have the game installed, but guests are also invited to play on their own tablets. By playing, participants can earn the Fireside Friends card to add to their decks.
