More information on the festival’s website

The Decatur BBQ Blues & Bluegrass Festival is coming back for its 16th year Saturday, Aug. 13.

Stop by between noon and 8 p.m. to enjoy live music from 10 bands on two separate stages, cold beer and, of course, plenty of barbecue.

The website shows the complete band lineup, ranging from aspiring local artists to established traveling bands.

The Decatur event is actually held in downtown Oakhurst. The festival was originally created in 2000 as a fundraiser to save the old Decatur train depot and moved to Oakhurst in 2006.

Now, the festival is held at Harmony Park and the adjacent lot at 630 East Lake Drive.

Tickets are $12 in advance, and they increase to $20 the day of the event. In the spirit of family-friendly fun, the festival is open to children 12 and under for free.
