“When I come home feeling tired and beat

“I go up where the air is fresh and sweet (Up on the roof)

“I get away from the hustlin' crowds

“And all that rat race noise down in the street (Up on the roof)”

Carole King and Gerry Goffin were onto something when they wrote that classic song, performed by the Drifters.

There are few experiences better than enjoying a glass of wine and the skyline with a date, or getting friends together for a birthday celebration atop your neighborhood pub. Atlanta has some great rooftop bars where you can do either of those.

But which one is your favorite?

Voting was close for Nos. 5-2, with the top vote-getter winning by a large margin.

Your No. 5 choice was SkyLounge, which "exhibits a contemporary city feel while maintaining a relaxed Southern charm," according to its website.

No. 4 was Whiskey Blue at W Atlanta. To enjoy this recently renovated space, guests arrive in "an all-glass elevator that ascends 125 feet high above the city's skyline," it website states.

Your No. 3 rooftop bar was Hotel Clermont. With its skyline views and neon lights, the rooftop atmosphere "is your license to indulge and howl at the moon."

Coming in second place was 9 Mile Station. Perched atop Ponce City Market, 9 Mile Station offers views of Atlanta "mixed with the foilage of the city's green canopy along the Beltline, Piedmont Park, and all 4 local neighborhoods that merge at Ponce City Market," its website states.

So, who finished on top?

It's name means "star," and Estrella is the star this week, garnering 25% of the votes in our poll and the title of best rooftop bar in Atlanta for 2019. Estrella combines Miami's 1950s art deco vibes with "the modernity of present-day Yucatán, Mexico," while giving patrons views of the Beltline's Eastside Trail.
