For years, documentaries and gossip articles have speculated about Whitney Houston’s relationship with Robyn Crawford, but the singer’s lifelong confidante has never spoken on their bond.
In a new book, Crawford, who rarely has spoken publicly about the singer, will release a book about her relationship with Houston, titled “A Song For you: My Life with Whitney Houston.” The tell-all will be released in the fall, according to People magazine.
In the 1980s, Crawford and Houston met at their Catholic high school, Mount Saint Dominic Academy. The book will reveal the duo's friendship from high school in East Orange, New Jersey, and the later years spent together during Houston's rise to fame.
"Since Whitney's death in 2012, (her) trusted and loyal friend, Robyn Crawford, has stayed out of the limelight and held the great joys, wild adventures, and hard truths of her life with Whitney close to her heart," reads the book's press release.
In the 2018 documentary 'Whitney,' family members and Houston's ex-husband, Bobby Brown, alluded to Houston and Crawford having a romantic relationship. Prior to the film's release, director Kevin Macdonald also spoke on their relationship.
"I hope the film expresses what I think is the truth," Macdonald said, "that they were romantically involved. As a teen, Whitney ran from her mother's house into the arms of Robyn."
“A Song for You” will release Nov. 5, 2019, and is available for preorder on Amazon.com.
