The open-air concert venue opens May 10 and has named more than a half dozen golden rock acts to complement Atlanta Symphony Orchestra performances.

Workers began installing seats at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre at Encore Park in Alpharetta.

Seats are taken out of the boxes and then installed on back of the seating area.

Antonio Thompson, from Atlanta, installs nuts that fasten the new seats to the floor. The chairs are installed in stages.

Boomer Balmert, from American Spaceframes Fabricators International (ASFI) in Ocala, walks across the fabric roof of the amphitheatre. The architectural fabric, called Shelter Rite, is made by Seaman Corp. ASFI fabricated the amphitheatre structrure.

Don Callihan, from Blue Ridge, an iron worker and welder with local 387, smooths his weld on the hand railing at the back of the seated area.

Half of the area in front of the stage is still dirt.
