BEFORE SHE joined 'Idol,' Paula had found success as a singer/dancer with a solo career. Her first two albums, 'Forever Your Girl' (1988) and 'Spellbound' (1991) both went to No. 1. She was known for her exceptional dancing.

In 1992, Paula married actor Emilio Estevez, but the union only lasted two years.

Paula Abdul had reportedly suffered from bulimia throughout her early life, but by 1995, she had recovered and was looking adorable again.

Three years after this photo was taken, Paula married Brad Beckerman in October 1996 in Beverly Hills. He has been described as an entrepreneur and a sportswear designer, but like her marriage to Emilio Estevez, this union lasted only two years.

IN 2007, Paula Abdul inked a deal to star in her own reality show called "Hey Paula" on Bravo TV. Among her adventures, she developed a new fragrance, a women's perfume called Sexy Thoughts, on the show.

IN 2009, Paula Abdul guest starred on the Lifetime TV show "Drop Dead Diva," which taped in a Peachtree City, Ga., studio.
