Police now believe the 911 call involving Lil Wayne's house may be a case of swatting, a prank call designed to generate a large police response.

Police in Miami Beach received a 911 call that four people were shot at the Miami Beach home of rapper Lil Wayne, WPLG reported.

A police spokesperson told WPLG that an unidentified person called 911, saying he had shot four people inside the home.

There has been no information released on the caller's identity.

WSVN reported that a SWAT team was on scene.

Neither WSVN or WPLG  were not sure if the rapper was home at the time.

Lil Wayne's label YoungMoney did send out a tweet.
