Atlanta is known for its music scene, so it’s no surprise that there are plenty of options for hearing live jazz music in the Atlanta-area.

We've compiled a list of five places where you can go to hear live jazz music, including one that involves brunch.

Café 290

Café 290 has been providing opportunities for the community to hear live jazz music for three decades. According to owner John Scatena, celebrities such as Vanessa Williams, George Lopez and Clint Eastwood have visited the venue.

The restaurant and bar showcases live jazz music six nights a week. On Thursday there is no cover charge.

Café 290 is located at 290 Hilderbrand Drive, Atlanta.

Velvet Note

This jazz venue has live music on Thursdays through Sundays each week. The cover charge on Thursdays, when local artists participate in an open mic jam session, is $8. Headliner concerts take place on Fridays through Sundays and prices can vary from $23 to $200 per person.

The Velvet Note is located at 4075 Old Milton Pkwy, Alpharetta.

Ritz-Carlton

The Lumen Lounge at the Ritz-Carlton has live jazz music on Wednesdays from 6 p.m – 10 p.m. There isn't a cover charge.

The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta is located at 181 Peachtree St., Atlanta.

Watershed

Atlanta residents love brunch. Watershed elevates the brunch experience at their restaurant on Sundays by treating guests to live music while they dine. Enjoy a mimosa, while eating chicken and dumplings and listening to a live jazz band from 11:30 a.m. until 3 p.m.

Churchill Grounds

Churchill Grounds usually has live jazz music on Tuesdays through Saturdays of each week. The cover charge is typically $10-$15. Shows begin at 8 p.m. on weekdays and 9 p.m. on weekends.
