Country superstar George Strait (pictured), Little Big Town, and Sarah Johns sold out the Gwinnett Arena Friday night in Duluth. The concert featured a stage "in the round."

George Harvey Strait, nicknamed "King George," was born in Poteet, Texas on May 18, 1952. With 32 albums certified platinum, he has more million-sellers than anyone except Elvis Presley and the Beatles.

George Strait began playing with a rock band in high school, but his preference turned to country music. He lists Merle Haggard, George Jones, Bob Wills and Hank Williams as his primary country music influences.

George Strait performs "Ocean Front Property" Friday night at sold out Gwinnett Arena. He holds the record for most No. 1 Billboard country hits with 42.

A member of the Country Music Hall of Fame, George Strait has had 73 Country Music Association nominations in his career, and won 16 awards. He has been entertainer of the year twice, won album of the year three times and has been named male vocalist of the year five times.

George Strait plays the hit "Honk If You Honky Tonk." He graduated from Southwest Texas State University in 1979 with a degree in agriculture.

George Strait has acted in feature films including The Soldier (1982), Mystery, Alaska, Pure Country (1992), The Horse Whisperer (1998) and Grand Champion (2002).

Country group Little Big Town formed in Nashville in 1998 and consists of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Roads Schlapman, Jimi Westbrook, and Phillip Sweet. The quartet is known for its prominent use of vocal harmonies, with all four members alternating as lead singers.

Little Big Town sing "Boondocks" Friday night at the Gwinnett Arena. They have been nominated for Grammy Awards, the Country Music Association Awards, Academy of Country Music Awards and CMT Music Awards.
