Final 2 contestants Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alaina posed before taking the stage at the "American Idol" Finale on Wednesday, May 25, 2011, in Los Angeles.

Jacob Lusk, who was eliminated on May 5, got plaid.

Pia Toscano, who was eliminated on April 7, was all smiles for her return to the "Idol" spotlight.

"So You Think You Can Dance?" judge Mary Murphy put the red in red carpet.

Judas Priest, who performed on the finale with contestant James Durbin, wore their shades.

Casey Abrams, who was eliminated after being saved once by the judges, performed "Fat Bottomed Girls" with Jack Black.

Stefano Langone, who was eliminated April 21, flashed a plea for peace.

Contestant Paul McDonald was ousted April 14 after singing a Bob Seger song.

Model Janice Dickinson struck a pose.

Top 3 contestant Haley Reinhart attended the finale.

James Durbin, who was knocked out of the running on May 12, sang with Judas Priest.

Naima Adedapo, who was kicked off in a double elimination in March, went metallic.

Season 7 "Idol" contestant David Archuleta -- he was a runner up -- looked like an old pro at the event.

"Hell's Kitchen's" Gordon Ramsay stayed out of the kitchen for the evening.

Season 4 "Idol" winner Carrie Underwood made an appearance, singing with Lauren Alaina during the finale.

Country singer Tim McGraw wore his cowboy hat to sing with Scotty McCreery.

Jack Black arrived with wife Tanya Haden.

Atlanta rapper Lil Jon showed off his grill, and performed during the show.

"Idol" Season 6 finalist Sanjaya Malakar showed off a new hairdo.
