This month, seven strangers will ‘stop being polite and start getting real’ right here in Atlanta when the iconic show “The Real World: Atlanta” hits Facebook Watch.

Though fans had become accustomed to seeing the diverse group of twentysomethings on their television screens, MTV and Facebook have partnered for an interactive presentation of the classic reality program. The new iteration, which will launch with the Atlanta cast, will premiere June 13. There will be three Facebook Watch seasons, including international seasons in Mexico and Thailand.

The remix of the series will keep with the tradition of  connecting people from divergent backgrounds facing myriad social issues. For instance, one cast member Arely, is a mother and a DACA recipient.

Like the show’s other 32 seasons, from 1992-2017, the cast mates are cherry-picked from all across the country. Still, several Twitter users who caught a glimpse of the new cast said they were disappointed in the pending premiere due to the cast not aptly reflecting Atlanta.

Others said the trailer for the new version of “The Real World” made them want to tune in.

Fans can chime in and engage with each episode through the official Facebook Group, premieres and watch parties. Find out more at
