Will Ferrell took his comedy routine to another level as he hit a cheerleader at a Pelicans-Lakers game in the face with basketball.

But no charges will be filed.  It was all a staged incident, flimed for his upcoming movie, "Daddy's Home," Huffington Post reported.

According to a summary from IMDB, the story is about a divorced man who's ex remarries a man who is more reserved than he is.  Ferrell re-enters her life and wreaks havoc.

Mark Wahlberg and Linda Cardellini also star in the film that is expected to hit the big screen later this year.  No specific date has been released.
