"Battleship" star Rihanna led the cast attending Thursday's blue-carpet premiere of the action thriller at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The film is released in theaters on May 18.

Rihanna's backless white dress, which she co-designed with Adam Selman, caught the cameras' attention.

Worried it would reveal too much, Rihanna kept a firm grasp on the dress front throughout the blue carpet.

"Battleship" is Rihanna's first feature film.

The film, which takes its name from the popular board game, also stars Brooklyn Decker.

Taylor Kitsch plays the unprecedented hero in "Battleship."
