Six of the nominees will be inducted at the 50th annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction & Awards Gala in New York. According to The AP, eligible members of the Hall of Fame can vote for three performing and nonperforming songwriters each. The voting deadline is Dec. 17.
If Elliot wins, she would be the third rapper to be inducted and the first female rapper in the Songwriters Hall of Fame. Jay-Z was the first rapper inducted in 2017, and Jermaine Dupri was inducted in 2018.
"I am Humbly Grateful to be nominated with so many other AMAZING writers," Elliot wrote on Twitter. "Congratulations to all of them also."
