Microcar sells for $322,000

The world's largest collection of microcars recently hit the auction block in Madison. The auction netted over $9 million dollars. Check out some of the top cars at the auction including the one that sold for $322,000.

The focus of the global collector community turned to Madison, Georgia, this past week as RM Auctions lifted the gavel on the world-famous Bruce Weiner Microcar Museum, generating more than $9.1 million in sales.

A true labor of love carefully amassed over more than 15 years by businessman and lifelong collector, Bruce Weiner, the museum was internationally celebrated as the world’s finest and largest collection of rare microcars. After making a decision to disperse the collection last year, Weiner entrusted RM Auctions to present 200 vehicles and 284 lots of collectibles ‘without reserve’, setting the scene for one of the most colorful and fun collector car auctions in recent history.

This 1966 Peel Trident was the 11th most expensive microcar sold out of Bruce Weiner's collection. When the bidding ended, it sold for $103, 500.

Bidding topped out at over $100,000 for this 1955 Messerschmitt KR 200 “Vic Hyde” microcar, too. It sold for $115,000. That figure was good enough for the ninth most expensive vehicle in the auction.

This was the sixth most expensive microcar sold at the auction. The 1963 Goggomobil TL-250 Transporter “Dubble Bubble” vehicle sold for $132,250.

The 1959 Goggomobil TL-400 Transporter Pickup “Coca-Cola” topped out at $138,000. It was the fifth most expensive vehicle in the collection.

The 1955 Inter 175A Berline sold for $161,000. That was good for the fourth most expensive microcar sold at Bruce Weiner's Museum.

The 1958 Goggomobil TL-400 Transporter “PEZ” sold for $172,500. It was the third most expensive vehicle in the sale.

This 1951 Reyonnah sold for $184,000. It was the second most expensive microcar in the auction.

This 1958 F.M.R Tg 500 “Tiger” proved to to be the top seller at the auction. It went for $322,000.

"My family and I had the best time of our lives," said Bruce Weiner following the sale. "My only disappointment of the weekend is that the show had to come to an end."
