Jay-Z opens 40/40 Club in Las Vegas

Celebrities show up for Jay-Z's new club in Sin City.

Entrepreneur Jay-Z opened a western outpost of his 40/40 Club -- in Las Vegas, where all the cool kids go to play.

Z's main squeeze, Beyonce, is on hand to support the new 40/40, which has sister clubs in Manhattan and Atlantic City.

Sister act: Solange Knowles joins Beyonce at 40/40. The new club is in an expansion of the Venetian and Sands casino called the Palazzo, on the Las Vegas Strip.

Mary J. Blige arrives. Jay-Z plans to open 40/40 Clubs in Tokyo and Macau in 2008.

Ne-Yo walks the red carpet. It cost $20 million to build Jay-Z's upscale sports bar, which features 85 plasma-screen TVs, five indoor bars, five VIP rooms, and floors inlaid with 24-karat gold and platinum.

Cleveland Cavaliers forward Lebron James and girlfriend Savannah Brinson turn out for the opening.

The 40/40 Club gets its name from baseball players who hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in one season. Alex Rodriguez (right, with wife Cynthia) is one of a handful of players who have reached that goal.

Miss USA 2007, Rachel Smith, arrives.

Model and Internet queen Cindy Margolis shows up.
