Jane Fonda celebrates her 70th birthday

Jane Fonda celebrated her 70th birthday in style

Jane Fonda, Atlanta's only two-time Oscar-winning resident, celebrated her 70th birthday in style at the Biltmore Hotel in December 2007.

The event doubled as a fund-raiser for her charity, the Georgia Campaign for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention (G-CAPP).

The party also served as an occasion to introduce her beau to the media. She had guarded the identity of retired New York businessman Lynden Gillis until Thursday night.

Fonda's ex-husband, Ted Turner, attended the party with his girlfriend, Elizabeth Dewberry. Fonda became emotional when she talked about Turner and his children, many of whom were present. 'If not for them, we never would have had G-CAPP. I'm so, so grateful to you.'

CDM International CEO Christian de Medici and his lawyer surprised Fonda by donating a school to her charity and a charitable trust that wills money from de Medici's estate to G-CAPP upon his passing.

The event benefited a good cause, but there was a good time to be had as well. Jane and her pals, from left, Bonnie Raitt, Sally Field and Rosie O'Donnell showed that at any age, girls just wanna have fun.

The entire room joined Jane for a champagne birthday toast as a large chocolate cake was rolled out.

The evening began with a picture of the guest of honor with each person in attendance during a cocktail hour. At the end of the night, each guest picked up their framed keepsake.

The evening's festivities were held in Midtown at the Biltmore Hotel.
