Gillespie’s Gunshow

Chef Kevin Gillespie’s highly anticipated new restaurant, Gunshow, is set to open in East Atlanta’s Glenwood Park neighborhood on May 8. A major departure from the fine dining aura at Gillespie’s former restaurant, Woodfire Grill, Gunshow mixes choose-it-yourself Brazilian churrascaria and Chinese dim sum styles with a lively atmosphere that pushes the boundaries of restaurant design. Opulent in Roswell

Restaurateurs Hicham Azhari and Fikret Kovac are set to open their newest venture, Opulent, on May 6 in historic downtown Roswell. Culinary director Bob McDonough and executive chef Andrew Long will helm the global-inspired kitchen, serving classic dishes with a modern twist. Chow Bing opened

Chow Bing, a new fast-casual Asian restaurant, has opened in the Pencil Factory Lofts on Decatur Street. The emphasis is on healthy dishes with lots of gluten-free offerings. Victory due to move

Eater Atlanta reports Victory Sandwich Bar in Inman Park is looking for another nearby location after being given notice that it will need to close its doors in July to make way for a new mixed-use development. Victory recently opened a second location in downtown Decatur that includes the cocktail bar and kitchen, Paper Plane. vicsandwich.com.

Blogger bake sale

On Saturday, Atlanta food bloggers will gather at Cook’s Warehouse at Ansley Mall for a bake sale benefiting the No Kid Hungry campaign, which connects kids in need with nutritious food and teaches their families how to cook healthy, affordable meals.
