Talk show host Wendy Williams has filed for divorce from her husband and manager, Kevin Hunter, her lawyer confirmed to Page Six.
According to TMZ, Hunter was served with the divorce papers Thursday morning at the studio where Williams films her daytime talk show.
The news comes after months of speculation about the couple’s marriage and reports that Hunter has had a more than 10-year affair with another woman, welcoming a child with her in March.
Williams has put up a united front with Hunter, saying on her show after she returned from her two-month hiatus, "Marriages have ebbs and flows, marriage isn't easy."
“Don’t ask me about mine until you see this gone,” she said, pointing to her wedding ring. “And it ain’t going anywhere, not in this lifetime.”
Williams was pictured without her wedding ring or band on her show Thursday.
"Wendy and her family have been a part of Debmar-Mercury for over 10 years," a spokesperson for "The Wendy Williams Show" said in a statement to E! News. "We respect their privacy regarding personal matters. As always, we remain committed to bringing an entertaining and topical show to our viewers."
Entertainment Tonight reported that a personal representative for Williams issued the following statement:
"Thank you to everyone for respecting the family's privacy during this time. Kevin is supportive of Wendy and they are working through this process together. No additional comment will be provided at this time."
Williams revealed she has been living in a sober house since returning to her show. Paparazzi photos showed Hunter driving her to and from the facility, and at times Williams was photographed alone and with a bodyguard without her wedding ring. By the time she was on camera for her talk show, it would be back on her finger.
Williams and Hunter met in 1994 and were married in 1997. They have one son together, Kevin Hunter Jr., who was born in 2000.
