"Georgia O'Keeffe and the Women of the Stieglitz Circle" features works from six women championed by Alfred Stieglitz.

In the early 20th century, New York photographer and art dealer Alfred Stieglitz promoted the work of several female artists. To honor his vision, the High has brought together works from six of those he championed in the exhibit "Georgia O'Keeffe and the Women of the Stieglitz Circle."Georgia O'Keefe loved nature, something that can be seen in works throughout her career. O'Keeffe was struck by the beauty and colors of canna lilies on her first visit to Stieglitz's home in the Adirondacks. It inspired a series of the flower. Georgia O'Keeffe Red Canna (1919) oil on board

O'Keeffe taught art to 6 and 7 years olds in 1917, and the experience benefited her in that she learned to use a child's language of bright colors and simple shapes in her work. Red, Yellow and Black Streak (1924) Oil on canvas

Many of Anne Brigman's photographs showed the female nude interacting with nature. This work resulted when she went hiking in the Sierra Mountains following the 1906 San Francisco earthquake and imagined the female figure as part of the landscape. Stieglitz published this in his photography magazine Camera Notes. It and similar works, ones where the purity of motherhood was personified in a mother dressed in white, became Gertrude Kasebier's signature image. The Manger (1901; negative 1899) platinum print

Kasebier photographed a group of Sioux Indians, and those images were published in Everybody's Magazine in 1901. This one stands out from the rest because Kasebier stripped down her subject so she could focus on his face. The Red Man (1900) gelatin silver print
