After battling the coronavirus this spring, Idris Elba is back to work on music, and he’s got a new song coming at the end of the week.

On Wednesday, the actor, who sometimes calls Atlanta home, teased on Instagram that a collaboration with Sierra Leon rapper Shadow Boxxer is on the way.

“Teamed up with my bro @shadow_boxxer to bring you a new banger #GirlWithTheBat out this Friday on @7.wallace,” Elba captioned a photo set of him at the DJ booth and the single cover.

The tune, called “Girl With The Bat,” will be released on Elba’s 7Wallace record label.

It’s not clear whether or not Elba, who did not post any snippets of the song in the post, will serve as only DJ or as a rapper, but fans are eager to hear the music regardless.

“The name alone is intriguing... Can’t wait for Friday!” one fan commented on Instagram.

Another said, “Yessssss!!! Looking forward to it!!!”

Elba is also able to look forward now amid recovering from the coronavirus in April. The star, who had been spotted filming the sequel to "Suicide Squad" in Atlanta, revealed he was diagnosed with COVID-19 in March. COVID-19 is the disease caused by the coronavirus.

“I feel ok, I have no symptoms so far but have been isolated since I found out about my possible exposure to the virus. Stay home people and be pragmatic. I will keep you updated on how I’m doing No panic,” he tweeted at the time.

His wife, model Sabrina Dhowre Elba, also later tested positive for COVID-19.

In April, the couple spoke to the Associated Press as they continued recovering in New Mexico, where Idris Elba had been shooting the Western "The Harder They Fall" before production stopped.

“You know, everyone’s sort of feeling the way we have been feeling, but it has definitely been sort of just a complete upheaval,” he said.

“I think that the world should take a week of quarantine every year just to remember this time. Remember each other. I really do,” he added.

Earlier this month, the actor was photographed in London, having caught a flight home after self-isolating in the U.S.
