Cities and counties throughout metro area are celebrating the arrival of summer by offering free, public movie screenings under the stars. The screenings generally begin at dusk between 8-8:45 p.m. and feature a range of films from recent releases such as the award winning “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” to classics like the perennial favorite, “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off.”
Some events allow attendees to bring picnic lunches while others will have food vendors on-site. There will be pre-show events at some of the screenings including family-friendly concerts and games for kids.
Before attending, be sure to check for any restrictions on food, alcohol, containers and pets as well as possible weather cancellations. And remember that all dates, locations and yes, even the movies, are subject to change.
