Thousands of metro Atlanta teachers were feted with gifts in recent days as part of national Teacher Appreciation Week.

At David T. Howard Middle School in Atlanta, teachers received flowers. At Ferguson Elementary in Gwinnett County, the well-wishes include handwritten notes and gift cards. At Beacon Hill Middle School in Decatur, teachers were served ice cream.

“Thank you for being a nice teacher for me for making activities fun to do and thank you for having me in your classroom this year. You are the best teacher,” one Ferguson Elementary student wrote to their teacher.
