Fulton County Schools will hold two hiring fairs for teachers.

The first, on Saturday, will be for those interested in working in south Fulton schools. It will be held at Banneker High School, 6015 Feldwood Rd. in College Park, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The second, for those interested in working at schools in north Fulton will be held Saturday, March 2 at Alpharetta High School, 3595 Webb Bridge Rd. in Alpharetta, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This school year, Fulton gave pay increases of 5.1% and retention payments of 2% to all eligible employees. New teachers working at “hard-to-staff” schools received a one-time bonus of $5,000.

The district said teaching positions were 99% staffed at the beginning of the 2023-24 school year. Paraprofessionals (teachers’ aides) were 92% staffed. Fulton’s website shows there are over 100 current vacancies.

The school system says certified staff turnover has decreased from 17% to 12%, within one year. Teachers will be able to sign contracts on the spot at the hiring fairs, officials say. Interested candidates can learn more on the district’s website.
