Some Fulton County schools will offer parents free testing kits so they can check for COVID-19 at home.

The district will receive an estimated 5,700 testing kits through a partnership with the Fulton County Board of Health, said Superintendent Mike Looney at a meeting this week.

The tests will be distributed at no cost to parents at select schools located in areas targeted by the health agency.

”The goal of this initiative is aimed at reducing community spread by allowing more flexibility and access to testing,” the district said in a statement.

The kits will be handed out to families on a first-come, first-serve basis starting Monday.

Families at schools in one of the following ZIP codes are eligible: 30213, 30268, 30291, 30303, 30308, 30310, 30311, 30312, 30313, 30314, 30315, 30318, 30331, 30336, 30337, 30344, 30349, 30354 and 30363.
