Four Atlanta schools will offer COVID-19 vaccinations on Saturday.

The free vaccinations are available to Atlanta Public Schools’ students ages 5 and older, their families and district employees.

Available shots include the first and second doses of the COVID-19 vaccine as well as the booster shot.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Long Middle School, Maynard Jackson High School, Mays High School and Sutton Middle School’s seventh and eighth grade campus. Registration is available online.

As of late November, APS said 21% of eligible students were vaccinated. In early December, nearly 56% of the district’s 7,297 employees had provided proof of vaccination, according to district documents.

APS started the second semester this week with virtual learning because of a surge in COVID-19 cases driven by the omicron variant. District officials have said they’re preparing to reopen buildings for in-person learning on Monday.
