Emmy Award winner Lisa Lossie’s vision for the terrace level of her Milton home may have been more in line with a set for a TV show or a movie. “I wanted to make it look like a tasteful vampire’s den,” she said. “I didn’t want anything crazy like crosses and vampires on the walls. The kitchen is outfitted with custom cabinets and modern appliances.

In the formal dining room, a rich red and gold damask is used for the window treatments and contrast with the faux finish in a pumpkin palette. A Persian Sultanabad rug adds to the room's vintage look. The Henredon table easily seats 10 guests.

Decor tip: Fill your home with things you love, not pieces that don’t have any meaning to you, Lisa said. “We love the history of our family. We love taking those pieces from generations and incorporating them into our home because they have meaning. Yet we find new pieces that we incorporate as well,” she said. Madison's room has pink and chocolate brown stripes, using Sherwin-Williams'. Meadow Trail, Cottage Cream and Coming up Roses. The sheers on the wall and chandelier are from Pottery Barn Kids.

It took about a month to paint the first wall, but the proceed sped up with experience, and the last wall took only one night, Lisa said.

The brightly colored playroom includes photographs taken of the kids in a sunflower field, by Ashley Blencoe of Blencoe & Co. Photographic Arts. The paint colors are Sherwin-Williams' Outrageous Green and Slick Blue.

Lisa Lossie painted all the children's rooms, trying to make them whimsical, fun and a little over the top, she said. William's room has a sports theme and moss green color palette.

The oversized master suite includes a king-size four-poster bed, a sitting room and fireplace with built-ins. The couple chose Benjamin Moore's Autumn Gold as the paint color.

Renovations: Fireplace/bookshelves added to master bedroom and pool, outdoor kitchen and living area added in 2009, terrace level finished in 2012. “With the addition of each child, we seemed to do another addition,” Lisa said. Cost of renovations: More than $500,000

The guest bedroom has an equestrian theme.

The media room on the terrace level has a sectional sofa, plus room for the kids to play on hardwood floors and a screen for movies and games. The terrace level walls are faux finished in bisque. The woven leopard fabric drapes add richness and depth.

The terrace level has three main areas - a media area, game area with a custom built bar by Atlanta's Classic Bars, a pool table and a more formal sitting area with a stone fireplace. A wine cellar built with antique bricks hold more than 500 bottles of wine. The bottoms of wine bottles sit in the bricks.
