SunTrust's online bill pay was working again late Wednesday morning after two days of problems.

Customers trying to pay bills online Tuesday and Wednesday were getting an error message that said the feature was not available.

A representative at SunTrust said the online bill pay feature had been down since sometime Tuesday, although some customers reported having problems as early as Monday.

"We, like others within the industry, have been having intermittent issues with our online bill pay service and we are working diligently with our third-party service provider to resolve those issues," SunTrust spokesman Hugh Suhr said Wednesday.

"Payments that clients previously had scheduled are being processed as usual," he said. " Clients can also use our mobile banking service to schedule, modify or delete bill payments."

Suhr said that any fees customers incur from using another means to make a payment will be reimbursed.

The problem is apparently not limited to SunTrust. Emails to ajc.com and messages on Twitter indicated Bank of America was experiencing the same problem.

SunTrust customers wanting information or seeking to have fees reimbursed can call  1-800-382-3232, Suhr said.
