Cox Enterprises said Nancy Rigby has been promoted to president of Cox Foundations, effective immediately. She will continue reporting to Jim Kennedy, chairman of Atlanta-based Cox Enterprises.
“Under Nancy’s leadership, the Cox Foundation reinforces our company’s long history of being a good corporate citizen through giving,” said Kennedy.
Rigby joined the organization in 2012 as vice president, Cox Foundations. She oversees the business management and administration of foundation operations.
Under her leadership, the James M. Cox Foundation has contributed more than $75 million in Atlanta alone. The grants are expanding access to trails, parks and greenspace, as well as providing healthcare organizations with funding to reinvent patient experiences. Cox also is involved in projects to improve early childhood education.
Rigby previously was vice president of an Atlanta consulting firm where she counseled non-profit organizations on strategic direction for fundraising, leadership and organizational sustainability.
Cox Enterprises’ holdings include The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
