Old Time Pottery, a Murfreesboro, Tenn.-based retailer that is reorganizing its finances in bankruptcy, will close two of its three Georgia locations, the company announced Wednesday.

The stores in Duluth and Douglasville will close, while the Marietta store will remain open.

Another six stores will close in other states, leaving 29 stores in operation.

A liquidation sale will start Thursdayand is expected to last eight weeks.

Privately owned, Old Time Pottery stores sell home décor items, from rugs to silk flowers and Christmas decorations, as well as deeply discounted items, such as jeans and kitchen appliances.

The company was founded in 1986, but hit trouble this year, saying when it filed for bankruptcy in August that it couldn't extend a line of credit with its main lender, SunTrust.
