The Mac vs. PC battle will play out in Lenox Square.

Microsoft announced Monday that it would be opening its next Microsoft Store, its ninth, at the Atlanta mall.

The company would not say when the store will open or how many people it will employ, but said there will be 4,600 square feet of shopping space.

The first Microsoft Store opened in California in 2009, and the Atlanta location will be the first in the Southeast. The company said opening the stores is part of a series of initiatives to engage with customers more directly and improve the purchasing experience of Microsoft technologies.

The store will have a video wall, tables with touch-screen technologies, a theater section and solutions for small businesses. It will sell Windows phones, gaming systems and computers, as well as other items.

The Microsoft Store will be located on the Mall level, next to Bloomingdale's. An Apple Computer store is on the mall's upper level.
