Can you work throughout the year at Stone Mountain?
Most jobs at Stone Mountain are seasonal, so during much of the year, many employees – such as those that work in gift shops or at attractions – work only on the weekends. During spring break, summer months and holidays, however, the park's operating schedule is extended.
Some jobs are only for specific time periods, but most are for the majority of the year.
What types of jobs can you get at Stone Mountain?
The park hires for a wide variety of positions, including farmyard employees to help care for animals, accountants, gift shop employees, educational interpreters who provide historical information, and employees to help with attractions, such as a Ride the Ducks captain.
In addition, the Stone Mountain Memorial Association hires park rangers and police officers for the property.
What requirements do you have to meet?
Since many positions involve interacting with the public, Stone Mountain looks for people who are friendly, positive and enthusiastic.
The park's employees must be at least 16 years old, and if you're 16 or 17, you'll need a valid work permit. You'll also have to pass a drug test and criminal background check.
If you're applying for a financial position, you'll need to pass a credit check, and if you'll be driving as part of your job, your driving record will be checked.

How do you apply for a job at Stone Mountain?
Applications are handled online, and you can search for open jobs, upload a resume and submit a profile. If requested, you'll also need to complete an application. Stone Mountain's recruiting team will call you to complete an interview over the phone.
You may then be scheduled for an in-person interview – usually more than one if you're applying for a full-time or leadership position. For entertainment positions, you may also need to audition.
After you complete the interview process, you'll usually receive an e-mail within a week or two letting you know about your status.
