Consumers looking to give their bottled water a flavor kick will soon get a little help from Coca-Cola.

The Atlanta-based company on Friday introduced Dasani Drops, a zero-calorie flavor enhancer.

The “Drops,” which will be released in October, will come in 1.9-fluid-ounce bottles. Users squeeze individual drops into the water. Flavors include strawberry kiwi, pink lemonade, pineapple coconut and mixed berry. Each bottle has about 32 servings.

“Dasani Drops is the perfect solution for those who want to mix things up with a refreshing splash of flavor in their day,” said John Roddey, Coca-Cola’s vice president for North American water, tea and coffee.

The product type is relatively new, launching about two years ago with Kraft Food MiO liquid drops. That was soon followed by private-label brands, including those in grocery stores.

Coca-Cola’s entry comes as water, including its Dasani brand, is grabbing larger portions of the beverage market along with teas, juices and sports and energy drinks.
