The parent company of Lawrenceville-based BioLab Inc., which makes pool and spa products, said it is selling the unit to another consumer products company for $315 million.

The deal by Chemtura Corp. to sell the business to KIK Custom Products includes BioLab’s plant in Rockdale County and its headquarters in Gwinnett County. Operations in both locations employ a combined 380 full-time workers, BioLab spokesman Brian Payseno said.

Chemtura also said it is exploring the sale of its Lawrenceville-based Chemtura AgroSolutions business, which produces crop protection products, such as fungicides, herbicides, insecticides.

The Rockdale plant has been in operation for 40 years. “No immediate changes are planned,” Payseno said Wednesday. BioLab also has operations in Louisiana, Canada, Australia, South Africa and Europe.

BioLab supplies water-treatment products and also makes specialty household cleaning products. The pool and spa products include chemicals in powder, tablet, stick and liquid form. The plant, in Conyers, is 20 miles east of downtown Atlanta on Old Covington Highway, and includes warehousing and four production facilities.

KIK makes consumer and industrial products for national and private label brands. The company entered the pool care business in 2011 with the acquisition of Chem-Lab Products Inc.
