Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport is closing its cell phone lot for a week while road improvements are completed, airport officials said.

The cell phone lot on the approach to the domestic Terminal South will close starting Friday, March 6 at 11 p.m. It will reopen Friday March 13 at 6 a.m., the airport said.

Contractors will be paving a new third lane near the cell phone lot, as the airport enters the final phase of road improvements around the terminal. The airport advised travelers to allow extra time to get to the domestic terminal.

Hartsfield-Jackson encouraged those who use the cell phone lot to instead use hourly parking while the cell phone lot is closed. The first 15 minutes are free in hourly parking. After that, fees are $2 per hour for the first two hours.
