FX has been beating the drum about "peak TV," the vast array of original options now available for consumption. The network even compiled a list of  every original prime-time show that aired in 2015.The total? A whopping 1,415!

Atlanta has become a decent-sized home for TV production and more than 40 are included on the list.

This total list, which you can access here, does not include non primetime shows so shows such as "Judge Judy" and "Family Feud" (shot here) are out. Newsmagazines like "60 Minutes" were snipped. Also excluded: original shows on streaming services that aren't measured by Nielsen such as Netflix, Amazon, Hulu and Sony Playstation. So no "Orange is the New Black" or "Transparent" or "Powers" (shot here) because those services don't tell us how popular they are anyway. It also excludes sporting events and specials so no "Academy Awards" or "Grease" live.

This is ranked based on total audience using any TV viewing up to seven days including DVR usage. Not surprisingly, CBS sitcom "The Big Bang Theory" is tops with 21.18 million viewers, followed by fellow CBS drama "NCIS" at 20.83 million.

In terms of total audience, broadcast TV still dominates. The only cable network program to crack the top 20 was AMC's "The Walking Dead" and it was by far the biggest show shot in metro Atlanta. It was in third place at 19.49 million viewers. The top pay cable show was "Game of Thrones," ranked at No. 48 with 9.51 million viewers.

Fox's "Empire" was by far the biggest new show, ranked No. 4 with 17.5 million viewers.

And proof that CBS remains the "big tent" network, 11 of the top 20 are from that network. Just 9 of the top 100 shows are non-broadcast. The top show from an Atlanta-based network is TNT's "Rizzoli & Isles" (6.57 million viewers, No. 90).

The most popular reality show is 'Dancing With the Stars" on ABC with 14.53 million viewers, ranked No. 7 followed by "The Voice" on NBC at 14 million ranked No. 10. "Survivor" (11.6 million, No. 25) beat "American Idol" (11.55 million, No. 28)

I also parsed the list below and compiled the top 46 shows shot in Atlanta. I excluded a few shows that shot a portion of their show in Atlanta such as "Braxton Family Values" on WE-TV and "Meet the Smiths" on TBS.
