TLC has spun off its popular “Say Yes to the Dress” series by adding some Southern flair and dubbing it “Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta.”
Cameras have already started tracking brides at Bridals by Lori in Atlanta.
Lori Allen, the owner for 30 years, said the store is huge (25,000 square feet) and caters to a broad swath of Southern ladies, especially the debutante types who have already been there for a dress when they were teens.
“They have very high expectations,” Allen said, which naturally makes for good TV. “And they have Southern mothers who are very particular.”

If you want to be on TV, this is a great opportunity but don't expect any compensation, according to the application:
There is no monetary compensation for appearing on the show nor does the show reimburse participants for travel, accommodations, or purchases made at the bridal store. Although there is no obligation to buy a dress, we are looking for serious participants who are actively searching for a wedding dress and planning to get married.
The series will start airing in July with 12 half-hour episodes.

With high expectations, southern brides are well-informed on their favorite bridal designers and expect each of the consultants to be on top of their game. Bridals by Lori is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year and sees roughly 10,000 brides annually.
The original “Say Yes to the Dress” returns for season five April 23 at 10 p.m. It finished its last season Dec. 18, 2009 with a solid 1.5 million viewers.
