"Whoever gossips to you will gossip about you." - Spanish proverb
It may be a new season with two new cast members but some formulas never change. Kim Zolciak spreads gossip. NeNe Leakes hears gossip. NeNe gets angry. Shake.
The twist: Dwight Eubanks is the source of the rumors. He supposedly loaned $10,000 to NeNe's husband Gregg. NeNe only finds out about it through Kim. She confronts Gregg. He says it was only a few hundred dollars.
Kim's lesbian relationship with DJ Tracy Young hits the tabloids and Kim herself confirms it. Kandi Burruss is befuddled that she'd use a tabloid that way. Then she asked, "How did Big Papa feel about it?"
"You're worst than the tabloids!" Kim said, ending the conversation.
Kandi starts dating an NFL player Willis McGahee from the Baltimore Ravens. They do some rock climbing. She is wary. "I don't like long-distance relationships," she said. "I want to take things slow dating."
Phaedra Parks, the entertainment attorney, enters the scene at about minute 27.
She quickly insults every female outside the South with this statement: "Southern women have a certain type of charm, a gracefulness that most women in other parts of the world don't have."
She then adds, "I'm fabulous. I'm fierce and I'm beautiful. I know I can have it all." No problems with self esteem, that's for sure!
Phaedra, 38, is quite pregnant, married to Apollo Nida, who signed a pre-nup. "He doesn't want my money," she said. "He wants me." At age 31, he is much younger and just got out of prison not too long ago for racketeering. This gets the other housewives' tongues wagging.
She happens to be Dwight's attorney. Dwight claims to Phaedra that he spent $30,000 on Sheree's fashion show last year. Sheree later said that's false.
Phaedra also knew NeNe. Both grew up in Athens. She is not thought of as "very ladylike," Phaedra said, using her words carefully.
NeNe confronts Gregg halfway through the episode about his supposed loan from Dwight. Gregg scoffs. "If he got it, it didn't come to me," he said.
He said it was only $500, not $10,000.
"I thought Dwight was a friend of mine, not a friend of yours," she said. "You should have been talking to me about it... It's really messed up to me."
NeNe expresses unhappiness about her marriage. If she keeps going down this negativity path, Kim warned, "it's a path of destruction."
At a shoe party in which Dwight attended, NeNe can't help herself. She confronts Dwight and gets in his face. He backs off.
"Save the drama for somebody else," Dwight said.
"Did Gregg borrow $10,000?" she yelps multiple times.
He didn't defend himself. He simply said, "Get out of my face." She got no answers.
"There's no self control," Kim noted in later commentary. "She took all her anger out on Dwight. I'm just glad it's not me this time."
Not this time!
Notable quotes:
- "As long as she's not choking me, we're laughing," Kim said about NeNe.
- "I hope I instilled the same morals and values that my parents instilled in me," Kim said about her daughters, especially Brielle, who is now 13 and growing up fast.
"Honey, we don't chase boys," she advises Brielle.
"Mom, I'm not a whore," Brielle said.
"Brielle's growing up and it scares me. I know how wild I was. But I turned out well," Kim said with a smirk.
- "Is oral sex eliminated?" asked NFL player Willis McGahee, after Kandi said she betted a friend she could be celibate the rest of the year.
"No," she responded.
- "If they aren't talking about you, you aren't relevant," - Phaedra Parks.
- "I see Plain Jane from Athens. When we talk fabulosity, I don't see it." - NeNe's opinion of Phaedra.
