Michael B Jordan's sci-fi series "Raising Dion" is being shot in metro Atlanta.
Netflix committed ten episodes for the first season.

Carol Barbee
("Unreal") will be the showrunner.
Jason Ritter, fresh off ABC's canceled Atlanta-produced "Kevin (Probably) Saves the World," has been cast on the show.
According to the show, "it follows the story of Nicole Reese (Aisha Wainwright ), who raises her son Dion (Ja'Siah Young) after the death of her husband Mark (Jordan). The normal dramas of raising a son as a single mom are amplified when Dion starts to manifest several magical, superhero-like abilities. Nicole must now keep her son's gifts secret with the help of Mark's best friend Pat (Ritter), and protect Dion from antagonists out to exploit him while figuring out the origin of his abilities."
Jordan plays a supporting role, presumably in flashbacks once the story shows his death.
Netflix has committed to multiple projects in Atlanta. Of course, there's super popular "Stranger Things" (shooting season three) and Jason Bateman's "Ozark" (shooting season two). Plus, the streaming service has aired reality show "Queer Eye" and is still shooting an upcoming horror series "The Haunting of Hill House."
