Kim Fields, who could be a new "Real Housewives of Atlanta" cast member this season, has been dinged for $212,421 in unpaid federal taxes, according to a federal tax lien out of Cobb County.

RadarOnline broke the story and procured the documentation. I drove up to Marietta today to get a hard copy of the lien.

Over three years from tax periods ending 2011 through 2013, she had unpaid balances. In 2011, the balance was $33,229. In 2012, it was $42,218. And in 2013, she owed $136,873.

She also had a separate tax lien in 2009 for $155,378.

I do not know if she had paid off any of these liens. The man helping to look up the records for me at the courthouse on Marietta Square didn't see any fresh records indicating any of the cases having been closed.

Fields, who couldn't be reached for comment, has not said anything publicly about her financial situation. She has been shooting scenes with "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" this summer as a potential cast member, which would be a major financial boost. (Bravo last year made its official cast announcement on October 1 for a November 9 debut. The network has not yet announced when season eight is starting.)

She is best known for her acting roles on "The Facts of Life" in the 1980s and "Living Single" in the 1990s. Since 2009, she has been living in Atlanta, directing episodes of Tyler Perry's shows "House of Payne" and "Meet the Browns." A couple of years ago, I also saw her directing an episode of TV One's "The Rickey Smiley Show." She still  occasionally acts including a 2012 GMC (now UP) film "A Cross to Bear" and a 2014 TV film on Hallmark "For Better or Worse."

She is married to actor Christopher Morgan and they have two sons.
