Welcome back, Lyndsey Marie! The mid-day host at Rock 100.5 is returning to Atlanta after the Chicago rock station she worked at changed format.

In 2014, Marie moved to Chicago to be mid-day host at classic rock station 97.9/The Loop but she continued to voice-track at the Atlanta rock station.

Atlanta-based Cumulus Media, which runs Rock 100.5, never owned the Loop. Rather, Cumulus since 2014 had worked under a local marketing agreement with Merlin Media that included an option for Cumulus to buy the station. For years, Cumulus basically paid rent for operating the Loop.

But Cumulus, in Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection since November, was unable to come up with agreement buy the station. (It did end up buying the other Merlin station WKQZ-FM, an alternative rock station for $18 million.)

Merlin sold the Loop signal to Christian broadcaster Educational Media Foundation for $21.5 million last month, according to the Chicago Tribune. The legacy rock station station became the syndicated K-LOVE Christian music format, which cost Marie her gig there.

She officially returns to Atlanta on May 1. Her show airs weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Rock 100.5.

She also voice-tracks on stations KXXR-FM in Minneapolis, MN; WFTK-FM in Cincinnati, OH; KGGO-FM in Des Moines, IA; WIXV-FM in Savannah, GA; and KKGL-FM in Boise, ID.
