I only now realize 16 hours later that VH1 inexplicably aired a new episode of "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta" last night instead of on Monday, August 4, when they plan to repeat the episode.

Why? I have no idea!

I'm sure I wasn't the only one.

Here's a quick and dirty recap:

The set up this past Monday was Karlie Redd "discovering" her boyfriend Yung Joc with his "Teletubby/Miss Piggy" mistress/girl on the side at a fashion event She thought he was out of town. But the whole argument goes nowhere. Karlie just leaves in a huff after hurling boring insults at him while he tries to act cool and collected. Miss Piggy stays in the background with that stupid smirk on her face. In terms of drama, this was pure fizzle.

The whole story line feels even more contrived than your typical "Love and Hip Hop Atlanta" episode.

In other storylines:

- Mimi is still reeling from Stevie J and his impact on her, especially as she processes her father's reent death. "My lack of trust even now is so ripped up, " she tearfully tells Waka Flocka's mom Deb Atney, who seems to be getting more air time than Waka or his wife Tammy. "He causes problems in my current relationship. I don't know how to recover from that. I loved him. I despise him, the person he's become. I don't even know who he is. I still have to deal with him because of my daughter. I don't know how he an  disrespect the mother of his child."

She said she works so hard to make sure her daughter Eva has that relationship with Stevie J because she didn't want her to miss out on her daddy the way Mimi did. She didn't meet her father until she was 16.

Later, she meets with Stevie J, who kind of apologizes for his "karma's a bitch" text the day her dad died. He wasn't apologetic enough though because he keeps badmouthing Nikko, which raises her ire. She leaves.

She then finds out MediaFakeOut (err... MediaTakeOut) came out with a rumor that Nikko is (gasp!) married but never bothered to tell Mimi.

She confronts Nikko and he admits it. Yes, he's still married. But he's with Mimi! More to come later, presumably August 11.

Benzino holds a showcase party for Althea, his singer/fiance, in downtown Atlanta. I attended the taping a few weeks back but didn't show up on screen. The only notable development here is Benzino's plans to get married to her in just two weeks. Kirk Frost recommends he get a prenup but when Althea questioned it, he quickly folded. He said he's in love and they'll be together forever. Who needs a prenup? "No prenup!" he yells out.

He also got a huge tattoo of Althea on his torso to prove the permanence of his love. That always goes well.

Erica and Scrappy remain co-parents but not lovers. They are friendly and there is no tension. He even convinces Erica (who is preparing a clothing) to make nice with Momma Dee, who has tormented her for a decade. But now that Scrappy is no longer with Erica, she decides to be nice to Erica and they are now on good terms. Momma Dee even hugs Erica's mom. The two women were on bad terms last year but buried the hathet.

Kaleena and her hubby Tony move out of the mold-infested home into a new one. And she's still pregnant.

NEXT WEEK

More fallout over Nikko's revelation. And then we find out Mimi and Nikko had other sex tapes floating around. So this "leak" stuff is looking more and more dubious.

 RATINGS

This past Monday's 14th episode drew 3.4 million viewers, a relatively soft week for the show and the lowest ratings since Memorial Day. The show is averaging about 3.5 million viewers a week, up significantly from a year ago.
