Dave FM morning host Jimmy Baron, early this morning hit his show producer Jeremy "Fat Kid" Powell with his SUV on his way to work. Powell was walking on 15th Street in Midtown, also en route to the radio station. Yvonne Monet and Christopher "Crash" Clark talked about the accident this morning.

Powell, 30, who used to work with Baron on 99X many years ago, recently took over as the show producer. He was sent to the Atlanta Medical Center with a broken ankle and broken tailbone but is now back at home, recuperating. Friends have been posting well wishes on his Facebook page and he's thanking them for the support on Twitter, too.

Here’s some of his Tweets since Baron hit him:

At 5 a.m. “Holy crap! Got hit by a car”

Then: “In an ambulance.”

And: “Think show will have something to talk about???”

As the pain intensified, he got a bit more serious: “Ok. This sucks. #understatement”

Later: “Wife here now. Asked ‘how did you stop yourself?’. I hit the damn ground, duh.”

Soon after, the nurse gave him some meds: “Ok. Got meds. Wow they work fast. I am floating.”

At 7 a.m., he Tweeted: "Nurse says I have a broken ankle and a broken tailbone. Doctor coming in soon. #bestweekever"

At 8 a.m., he wrote: "Person that hit me is my very good friend and coworker @jimmybaron. He was freaking out more than I was."

“No surgery needed. Woo!” he Tweeted at about 11 a.m. “I’m gonna make it. It will just take a while,” he added at about 2 p.m.

At 3:05 p.m., he wrote: “Crutches suck.”

UPDATE Sunday, May 8: Fat Kid posted a photo of himself on his Facebook page with a walker. He also noted he was sore the next day.

Dave FM program director Scott Jameson said he can't comment on the accident.  He apparently told everyone at Dave not to talk either.

Is CBS Radio, which owns Dave FM, liable? It doesn't appear to be the case because commuting to or from work does not constitute "work" in the eyes of Georgia law, according to Ragland Jones, a local law firm.

This situation reminded me of the season four episode of “The Office” when Michael Scott hit Meredith:
