This Sunday, the show officially debuts a second cast member to the fold: a doctor's wife named Lisa Nicole Cloud.
"I thought it would be a great opportunity to be on a show that really embraced professional, educated, family-oriented women," she said. "I don't think there's another show that captures all those qualities."
This doesn't mean the show doesn't stoop to petty arguments and last season, a physical fight.
"I steer more to the side of the positive," Cloud said. "Empowering and encouraging. I think as professional women, we can work through our differences. This show is about real women with real life drama. I bring the class and the sass."
She figured the show could help her push out her Lisa Nicole clothing line and her direct sales work, where she said she made most of her money. (It's also called multi-level marketing and she said she's near the top of a big direct sales operation that sells gas and cell phones. for 5 Linx Enterprises. She acknowledges a lot of people instantly think "pyramid scheme" when such operations are mentioned but she said this is a perfectly legitimate way to run a business.)
Cloud's husband is an emergency room physician, who works with Duncan Wells, the husband of Kari Wells, who was on the first season but dropped out. (Cloud said she had some uunspecified family matters that precluded her from staying on.)
Cloud has crossed paths before with Dr. Jackie Walters on the show on a fashion show and an annual luncheon Dr. Jackie holds for breast cancer survivors. She also knew Quad Webb-Lunceford from a fashion show.
Quad, she said, becomes her closest confidante on the show. She's helping her with a lien of pet clothing. She isn't as close to "Queen Bee" Mariah Huq, who helped put the show together.
A Baltimore native, she grew up in Alpharetta, graduating from Milton High School. She also graduated from Emory University as a pre-med. But she went into business. She also met her husband Darren during college but only started dating him while he was in residency in D.C. She also has two children.
She also isn't modest. In the preview video, she said she's a "quadruple threat - I'm beautiful. I'm intelligent. I'm articulate. And I'm rich." On her website, she calls herself "Ms. Millionaire Maker."
"Real Housewives of Atlanta" has been its lead in the past two weeks, helping the show generate its best ratings to date. "I find the show entertaining and fun to watch," Cloud said. Cynthia Bailey filmed a scene for her and she knows NeNe Leakes and Porsha Williams, too.
