The ascension of Twenty One Pilots continues.

A few weeks after playing their first headlining festival gig at Music Midtown , the duo of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun will appeal to an even bigger audience with a plum slot on "Saturday Night Live."

The alt-rock-rap band – whose worldwide tour continues through April - will perform on the show Oct. 8 – sharing the bill with host Lin-Manuel Miranda (could there be a "Hamilton" mash-up in the works?).

"Saturday Night Live" launches its 42nd season on Oct. 1 with Margot Robbie hosting and The Weeknd performing.
