The B-52s will continue their 40th anniversary tour for a worldwide jaunt that will play Cadence Bank Amphitheatre at Chastain Park on Sept. 7 with OMD and Berlin.
The band, which formed in Athens in 1976, released their self-titled debut in 1979. They started their anniversary tour last year – stopping in July at Chastain with Culture Club and Tom Bailey – and celebrate this year from May 4 in West Palm Beach through Sept. 24 in New York City.
Tickets for the Atlanta concert, priced at $40-$125, will go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday via ticketmaster.com.
In addition to their live performances, the B-52s will be in the spotlight for a documentary to be produced by Fred Armisen and directed by Craig Johnson as well as an official written history of the band, due in 2020.
