So much for hearing “All the Young Dudes” live – at least for now.

Mott the Hoople ’74 has canceled its fall tour because Ian Hunter, 80, recently developed a severe case of tinnitus. The singer/guitarist has been advised by doctors to cease performing until the condition subsides.

Mott the Hoople was slated to kick off the tour Oct. 21 and roll through Atlanta Oct. 24 with a show at the Coca-Cola Roxy.

The band’s eight-date tour earlier this year marked their first U.S. concerts in 45 years. It appears Mott’s last Atlanta concert was in May 1974 at the Fox Theatre.
